My buddy was home on leave and was going to the gym everyday to keep up his PT. He noticed this elderly gentleman was there everyday no matter what time my buddy went in. He finally asked the guy "do you live here?" and the gentleman said he was there doing physical therapy (didn't hear what for) and that it was so painful that he had to do it in small doses, but that he was determined to do it.

The next day, my buddy gave him a Marine "pain is weakness leaving the body" shirt for inspiration/motivation. The old dude teared up and my buddy's sister cried, LOL. She told me that guy wore that shirt everyday to work out in after that.

 Thank you 6 for clearing that up, for I to was under same Impression as well. Been on sidelines since SOFREPs debut. It is by far the best informative and educational site, My book list has no end in sight!

 I think I started following (reading all the articles) sometime in early May and have loved it. Can't say how many times I have burst out laughing at odd moments of the work day to odd looks after following the banter. Read some great books at suggestions of site members as well! I think over time as I become more familiar with the background of the conversation topics I will chime in more.

 @LauraKinCA  @StormR  @momengineer You're very welcome Laura.  I've been commenting now and then since the site's inception.  I don't comment on everything, but I do read all of the articles and watch the banter between staff, contributors, and those who comment back-and-forth.  Just as long as you feel comfortable contributing and/or coming up with any questions you may have.  The vast majority of those individuals you've no doubt seen on SOFREP are quite professional.....and not to mention amusing. :)

Thanks SW!! I thought about that as a "handle", but it fit too many folks over the months who have come out of the shadows to voice their thoughts :) Notice, I have only ventured into arenas that I feel I have half a shot at being articulate. Love reading the posts by all those in the know though. Fascinating stuff.

 @HugeFan  @StormR  @Icegator  @Storm There is a lot there so give yourself some time to poke around.  I started a couple of discussions and I've sent a couple of PM's.  Once you start digging in, the forum layout is very nice!  I can see how we can use it to brainstorm shit before it can see day light.

 @Old PH2  @HugeFan  @Icegator  @Storm  I'm home now - on my CHEAP reliable laptop instead of that fancy, expensive hunk of junk at work.  Turns out that someone in the IT department (and this is a direct quote) "pushed a button by accident".  Ohhh, oopsss indeed.  He crashed the whole fracking network.   So, my work PC gets to live another day.   I took a couple days of vacation off, so no work for me until Monday :) :)

Ok, a bad wife joke ,but this was funny.

I was with my wife at a gun shop today checking out the Sig featured in the Loadout Room, and this guy was there shopping for his wife as well. He asked the salesman (a witty older gentleman) what weapon he would recommend for his wife. The salesman was showing the cust. .38's and discussing shooting styles and said "I bet your wife is a better shot than you" and the cust. said "as a matter of fact she is". To this the salesman said "yeah, most Women are great shots because they can hold a steady bead". The cust said "really?" and the salesman said "yeah, that's because they have no heart or pulse!"

 @StormR  @HugeFan  @Contagio   Stormy, personally, without my wife my life would be shit.  She was awfully young when we met, became friends for a few years, then I couldn't run her off!  Because of the age diff, 23 years, I thought she would have a better life with someone else.  She just wouldn't go away, no matter what I said.  Point: she tried the, "tell me you don't love me" bit, so I did, she said, "you're a Liar", lol, I was, so she stayed!! Gotta add, she is wife #3, lol. it has now been 22 years.    6

 @StormR  @HugeFan  @Recon6 Your sentiments are much appreciated.  I credit my Grandfather, as my father passed at an early age....I never heard him refer to my Grandmother as anything other than "The Boss" in all his years and was the perfect example of true gentleman.  RIP, LTC....just lost him this year.
