I am for a SOFREP cap, fitted of course.  I am also thinking of hoodies, sunglasses, beanies, possibly some gear of some sort.  SOFREP velcro patch would also be the Shat.  I am excited for this to get up and start shipping.  Need something for us MAFIA members that would set us apart from the general public.  Can I get a LIKE???

I definitely want a SOFREP cap.  But, I also have a bunch of Blackhawk caps that could use a SOFREP OD patches. Lastly, if it is respectful and feasible, I would like to see a Glen/Ty memorial patch, or something else, where the proceeds could go to the family and/or RCF.

I do have one question for Mr. Webb though.

What happen to your Massif civie line of clothing? Wasn't there supposed to be new stuff coming out?

Also, are you going to give us a sneak peak on your hunting camo? http://soldiersystems.net/2012/03/09/sneak-peek-the-brandon-webb-camo-project/

 Women should wear what they want in support. I was in a check-out line a while back and this guy asked the woman in front of me wearing a "Marines" t-shirt, "your a Marine?", and she said "no, they're just my heroes". She went on to say "people wear shirts with sports teams of bands because they idolize or support them, I'll wear one for the Corps!"

 Heres another;

My buddy was home on leave and was going to the gym everyday to keep up his PT. He noticed this elderly gentleman was there everyday no matter what time my buddy went in. He finally asked the guy "do you live here?" and the gentleman said he was there doing physical therapy (didn't hear what for) and that it was so painful that he had to do it in small doses, but that he was determined to do it.

The next day, my buddy gave him a Marine "pain is weakness leaving the body" shirt for inspiration/motivation. The old dude teared up and my buddy's sister cried, LOL. She told me that guy wore that shirt everyday to work out in after that.

 @momengineer Are you a Team Room member? If not then that is great place to start. If so, then you should grab one anyway because it doesn't actually imply to anybody that you're SOCOM. Plus as a side bonus you can explain to interested parties what it means and where to go to learn more! Win-win!

 @momengineer  I am also not SF - not even military service or male - but I bought one of the shirts as soon as it was available because it supports SOFREP.  I want to see SOFREP continue and grow and the shirts were designed specifically for SOFREP folks, so I'm going to wear it with great pride.  However, like you, I would never wear a shirt that had been intended to recognize a specific branch or service.  For example, you'll never see me wearing anything that has a frog skeleton or Trident on it and you can be sure that SOFREP would never offer anything like that.  I let myself be guided on what's appropriate and what is not by the men and women who have served.

 Agreed Storm. My purchase was in support of the continuing SOFREP efforts and I didn't see the design as something only military or more specifically SOF could wear with pride. This has been a great site for education and I have thoroughly enjoyed being a site lurker for several months now.

Can't say how many times I have burst out laughing at odd moments of the work day to odd looks after following the banter. Read some great books at suggestions of site members as well! I think over time as I become more familiar with the background of the conversation topics I will chime in more.

Ok, a bad wife joke ,but this was funny.

I was with my wife at a gun shop today checking out the Sig featured in the Loadout Room, and this guy was there shopping for his wife as well. He asked the salesman (a witty older gentleman) what weapon he would recommend for his wife. The salesman was showing the cust. .38's and discussing shooting styles and said "I bet your wife is a better shot than you" and the cust. said "as a matter of fact she is". To this the salesman said "yeah, most Women are great shots because they can hold a steady bead". The cust said "really?" and the salesman said "yeah, that's because they have no heart or pulse!"

    • In the IDF, 'Lonely Soldier' is a term that describes soldiers serving on active duty who have no family is Israel. These are volunteers that came to serve for 3-5 years. They typically go back to their respective countries upon completion. Most commonly, these are people who immigrated to Israel by themselves. I was one of them. While in Israel, I lived in an apartment building where the majority of people were lonely soldiers. It was located on the outer ring of Jerusalem, surrounded by four Arab villages. My roommates were two recon guys (like me) and one who worked in field intel. All of the other inhabitants were soldiers from various units, with most of them serving a combat role. It was a well known thing, especially to the Arabs in the village. Most of the time we wouldn't be there, but when we were on leave, we would come to the apartment for a little R&R. It was rare that the four of us were there at the same time, but once in a blue moon, it did happen. Each village had, as is customary, its own mosque. When the time for prayer came, the loudspeakers would call out to the faithful. It was OK, we were used to it. However, over the weekend they would make it a point to play the call to prayer very, and I mean VERY, loud. They knew soldiers would be in the building trying to get some sleep - recovering from several weeks in the field. This always annoyed me but there was nothing I could do. On this particular weekend, after an intense seven weeks of non-stop ops, all I wanted was to go to the apartment, sleep, eat, sleep some more and then sleep again. That weekend the four of us were at the apartment and we were all equally tired. We arrived Thursday night and after a small dinner and some beers, we went to sleep. At 0400 we all jumped.... The freaking loudspeakers at all four mosques began their call to prayer at full blast. Fuck.... We spent the remainder of the day trying to rest and every time we would fall asleep, again... The call for prayers, full blast! Over lunch, we all looked at each other and knew this had to stop. We came up with a plan. I know it wasn't nice, but at that point we couldn't care less about political correctness. Here's what we did. After some recon that night, we noticed that the call to prayer wasn't performed by an Imam or some other person with a microphone. It was a tape recorder that used a tape. We figured the four of us, experts in stealthy infils, could sneak in and steal those tapes. However, while we were planning the different infil routes for each village, we all smiled and did something better. We recorded Metallica's 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' on repeat on all four tapes and then waited till midnight. At midnight, each one of us - armed with a Metallica tape - headed to a different village. All dressed in black, we were careful not to be seen. We entered into the buildings and exchanged the tapes. We rallied back to the exfil point, a crossroad not far from the last village and headed back to our apartment. And then we waited... At 0350 we went to the roof with some coffee, opened some field chairs and waited for the show to begin. At 0400 sharp the first "call" came alive, full volume: Make his fight On the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside ... Take a look To the sky Just before you die It's the last time he will Followed by the next, then the 3rd and 4th joined in. Full volume Metallica! Soon after, we heard sirens headed to the villages. I don't know what happened after that, but we had our own private concert, right there. No kidding, there I was... Metallica call to prayer
