Also, survival gear, like water purifiers, etc. Feature the gear and how you can accomplish the same thing with out gear, example best survival matches, friction firemaking, water purification, use of charcoal to purify, etc. etc. Real world SOCOM survival techniques.

Can you guys feature Detonics .45 1911s, not the new ones but the 1970s models, I'm curious who besides law enforcement actually used this, if SOCOM/JSOC ever had this gun in their arsenal, pros/cons, etc.

Looks promising, Brandon.

Gear is great, a nice distraction, but many of us could not hope to obtain much of the highspeed goodies you may feature.  Please remember to include things for us budget minded old farts. 

 

That being said, bring on the cool toys!

 @Old PH2 Agreed, I love all of the gear that was featured over at KitUp! but there's no way that I could afford/justify the price of a lot of that gear. Would I love to get one of those Arct'ryx jackets, hell yea, but can I afford to shell a few hundred for one, now freaking way. What I'd like to see is some good enough gear that has some of the same functionality as the top of the line, Tier 1 gear, but at a much lower price for us civilians & former .mils who don't need their gear to be able to survive hell and back but want something a little more military like than what you can get at Big 5 & REI.

 @Riceball  @Old PH2 I think they're going to name the new wing of Cheaperthandirt after me.  I can't afford a macmillain stock for my M1A so I picked up a $200 "good enough" with nice adjustable cheekpad and shoulder pad.  Of course I have to dremel out the trigger assembly insert a little, but It's "good enough."

 @Tango9 Is that like the old pet rocks but high speed?  Maybe painted with the latest Crye Multicam?
