AFSOC JTAC: Courage Under Fire

This is an excellent video that displays the unique skill set that only AFSOC brings to the table. You can tell that the guys on the ground are stressed and under heavy fire; This is a true testament to the JTAC training and fortitude of this particular Operator who holds it all together under enemy fire.  Hat’s off to AFSOC.

Considering all the technology that we have on the planes you'd think that we could get some hi res gun camera footage. That was some terrible image quality. 

 

Much respect to the pilot and controller.  Must be hard to concentrate with all the audio warnings 'Altitude, Altitude' and 'Pull up! , Pull up! '

That's the best video I've seen of this kind of air-ground cooperation. Outstanding work.

 @SEAN SPOONTS There was an episode on the tv show Combat Zone that told of a similar story of a Green Beret team calling in fire support from F-16's during Desert Storm.  Really cool episode, think the episode was called "A Tight Spot".

Thats all I ever cared about when I was there: My buddies to my left and right. Left all that PR/PC stuff to armchair cowboys and the media. Great job on the JTAC and pilot

Incredible.... really makes you appreciate the discipline of the JTAC under fire, to stay locked in like that... Also for the pilot, to stay calm and sort out the info, and use it correctly. You would have to find olympic athletes to compare to the kind of focus that our troops exhibit as a matter of course.

That video is a great testament to the professionalism and stress needed under fire to call in such precise fire support.  That is about as close as you want to get to 30mm ammo from an A-10 without being turned into hamburger. Very nice job by the JTAC controller.
