Just wanted to drop a line to say that Scott Zastrow's 'The Degüello' is an excellent read. I read it when was first released and am about to re-read it again once I finish 'First in' — the parallel testament to The Degüello from the CIA's PoV.

I've read this one through twice, loaned it out once.  It's a solid and gets 4.5 stars.  Only reason it didn't get 5 is because I was pissed it ended.

 @Tango9 I told Scott the same thing, I was like dude, where is all the other stuff you didn't write about!?  As a writer myself I understand he had to cut it down a little.  We all love to hear ourselves talk but seriously, probably no one wants to listen to us run our suck for 1,500 pages!

 @JackMurphyRGR I've read Horse Soldiers and thought it was very, very inspiring.

So to read the 'Tripple Nickel' side of the story is definitely worth it.

Also, those that watch the docus probably remember 1st SGT Dave Betz from 574 in NGs "Inside Special Forces". Can I ask what ever happened to him after his Team was portrayed in the documentary?

 @Ravage Scott's book does a great job of taking you inside SF culture and showing what it's like on an ODA.  Although fiction, I suspect he does a pretty good job of describing what the invasion was like for ODA 555.  I can't help you with the 1st Sergeant though, I don't know him.

Scott was one of my instructors in the Q course (SOPCC), hilarious guy, he loved to show us that video, in full length, good to see hes still around!
