MSOB Weapons

Here’s a rundown of the weapons currently used by MSOBs:

M4 Carbine

The M4 is a direct gas impingement rifle that fires the NATO 5.56. The standard M4 barrel length is 14.5, but can be outfitted with different barrel length uppers.

MEUSOC 1911

The 1911 is a semi-automatic pistol that fires the .45 ACP round. The original MEU(SOC) 1911 were assembled by the Marine Corps Precision Weapons Shop from match grade parts from various manufacturers. With the current higher quantity demands, the Marine Corps is looking for a suitable off-the-shelf replacement.

Glock 19

The Glock 19 is a compact 9mm semi-automatic pistol. Glocks are known for their durability and reliability.

 SCAR Heavy

The FN SCAR Heavy is an assualt rifle chambered in 7.62mm. It is part of the Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle (SCAR) family of weapons.

M40A5

The M40A5 is a bolt action sniper rifle chambered in 7.62mm and is built with a Remington 700 action and utilizes a McMillan fiberglass stock. These rifles are built with parts from various manufacturers by Marine Corps armorers.

M82A3 SASR

The Barrett M82A3 is a magazine fed semi-automatic rifle that fires the .50 BMG round. It has a max effective range of about 1800 m.

M249 Para SAW

The M249 Para SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) is a belt fed light machine gun chambered in 5.56 NATO. The PARA version of the machine gun features a shorter barrel and a collapsible stock.

 MK48

The MK48 is a belt fed light machine gun that fires the 7.62mm round. It is similar to the M249 but fires the larger round. This weapon can also be utilized with a shortened barrel and collapsible stock.

M110 SASS

The M110 SASS is a semi-automatic, magazine fed sniper rifle that fires the 7.62 round. It is manufactured by Knights Armament.

M39 EMR

The Enhanced Marksmanship Rifle is a modified M14 rifle firing the 7.62mm round.

MK13

The MK13 is a 300 WinMag bolt action sniper rifle.
