You know how Walken declares that he needs more cow bell? Yeah that's how I feel about this series on SOFREP! Fuckin' aces Boss. Osman has to be a busy guy but is there any possible way he might make a guest article. The guy has a fuckin Jedi mind lock on me, he's starts talkin' and I start nodding like a cult member. C.Kyle is that type of guy I can drink with (and I do while watching), the "aw, shucks" manner strikes a chord. Looking forward to Jack getting his Ivy league ass in there with some ODA boys!
Brandon have you Chris and Kyle ever thought about doing a leadership training seminar??? A seminar passing along tips on leadership, goal setting, personnel management and development ..I have to say you would sell the shit out of one.
Here is hoping that this is a test. This show needs to be longer this was another subject that could have gone on and on and never got old.Again good stuff. This training the mental prep are what has always brought me to read books about SEALS and Special Operations ..I am always looking for a way to apply it to being a big city Paramedic boss. How to train better harder and smarter.THIS IS GREAT VIEWING
But seriously, Pat and Brandon brought up a great point about how training has stepped up to include mental awareness and subconscious mental preparation through high intensity training. Would love to hear more from Brandon about mental conditioning for that combat mindset.
@Old PH2 Brandon also brought up a technique in his book that's been used by the U.S. Olympic Judo and Ski teams since the 70's or 80s - visualization training. It's remarkable how much sway the mind holds over the body.
@jeffreycarr "Chair Flying" is a type of visualization training that flight training students use to practice procedures that involve a series of steps that are necessary to complete and properly execute complex maneuvers (sometimes while sitting on a desk chair in their shorts holding a toilet plunger as a substitute control stick).
Studies have been done which have concluded that exercise can be done with greater intensity and for longer periods when the mind is engaged. I'm an every day fitness type with my own equipment. Weight training with music, aerobic training with music or television, and the stationary bike specifically with the additional option of reading can take much and nearly all the effort out of those activities.
Meditation is another activity - or inactivity - that also engages the mind in a way that can warp the perception of time and distract from the present physical connections with pain or discomfort. Think of the amazing pain tolerance demonstrations by some expert martial arts practitioners as an example.
You're absolutely right - it's remarkable - and in ways that we don't fully understand. Harnessing the mind seems to have an almost unlimited potential.
I just can't see Chris K as NEO, fuckin Keanu Reeves!!!

Just Kidding, I recall reading Chris's book and thinking "Jesus Fuckin Christ is he lucky!"
I feel like these interviews have to be longer than just 3 minutes? Do you cut out parts or literally only talk for this long? I would really like and i think everyone else would like to see these be 5 minutes at LEAST, these guys have such valuable info that is being barely thrown out over a couple minutes.
@Diesel They stay in one place, never change their clothes and do everything in bursts. Snipers.
Just kidding darlin. These are short clips of an extended interview.
@LauraWalkerKC Hmm sounds about right haha. But then where are the extended versions!!!!!!!
Ahhg..Too short! Brandon, must have more! Keep em coming. I really look forward to these.
sometimes things are meant to happen. i remember when i read "lone survivor" by Luttrell. he said that everytime he was blown up and he slid down the mountain, he rifle was always right next to him.
@kevinnash87 That is an eerie thing in Lone Survivor. Does make you wonder.
Pat Kilbane is an excellent interviewer/moderator - don't see that mentioned enough on these series
Another kick ass episode! Brandon once you air all episodes are you going to post them on the SOFREP site to be able to push play and watch through all episodes with out stoping to move from episode 10 to 11 for example?
@gunslinger6 We are going to have a digital download for sale of the entire series.
