Man...Kyle, we'll miss you. I know many like you and I am so glad i was able to write about such men. I have followed warriors like these, and they are just real-life Terminators imho. All operators who work inside the SOF community have that special consciousness, that special constant and calm heart rate, that precision shot placement/grouping that most couldn't achieve no matter how hard they trained (I know...I know..in fact, there've been some 11Bs I met back when who have been the best shooters in their 3-gun teams and are out-smoked by former tribe guys who haven't had trigger time in years!).

Man, I just hope we have more shooters like Chris who we can send to places like NK, Tehran, Sudan, Phillipines (Abu Sayyaf), Yemen (AQAP and everyone else there AQT related), and elswhere to just quietly pop their cell's tier 1 level perosnalities/HVTs and just wreck their whole party.

I heard a story once about an Army EOD tech-turned-AWG consultant who was supposedly (only for a few brief hours) on a rooftop with Kyle, and said it was like ballet. His .300 WinMag as just magnificient and would literally vaporize the top half of any shit-for-brains bright enough to try and make a dash thru their AOR.

Hope once Obama's out of the White House, we can get someone a bit nuts like Cheney (lol jk) or just anyone who has no problem taking the gloves off (like Rumsfeld did when trying to form P20G along w/ aiding JSOC and where he gave them total support during initial phases of OEF etc)...that would be great. I think we need a total loon for a president who is just ready to stop with the buck-passing and economic whining and just get it done and, when it comes to NK or Iran, just tell 'em "sounds good, girls...come see what daddy's got for ya"...lol (cheesy i know..i am not good at bad ass one-liners) and literally just let the leash off of JSOC, any in-place OGA elements, every PMC firm overseas, and just let them go for broke and peel some wigs. You all know they'd love to too...Ask Webb or any of the guys who run this site...  I don't know em, but i suspect their comrades  (and they'd probably, in a shy way, admit it too) wouldn't mind going out and just taking the gloves off.

hell, I hear stories from PMCs in Nigeria and in Mexico where the gloves are already off, and they are having the time of their lives. They got AC, $2400 a week, and they get to track and smoke militias and Zetas/cartel guns on a weekly basis (as "consultants"). I say, let these operators work...They love what they do, they sacrificed it all for it, and I say give them whatever they ask..

Punishfuckingment.    Evil should expect a knock at the door from something even more evil and often times its the who good guys are the most evil of them all.  Its ironic that such lovers of good can lay down so much hate and then get right back to loving again.    This blood is the rarest kind.

@Allwet Heh.  But seriously - I loves me some Chris Kyle.  That's a Patriot.  An American.  An American Badass.  And a Texan.  I defy anyone to improve upon that.

Its a fiiting symbol- though initially I THOUGHT  WTF, but it didn't take long to put 2 and 2 together. Its not at all like the SS Death Head skulls, or the dipshit "kill em all , let god sort em out" type that every dick and his dog was sporting for a while ....man that stuff used to bug me.Talk about the perfect tool to get no understanding from the public-I mean , there was your perfect validation of the "babykiller stereo type for the media to use , and did they ever.Rant stifled.

One thing has always struck me about the "everyman SOF'er"-is they really are the good guys all around- not just in the esoteric sense, but on a day to day basis in real life; with a very established sense of actual right and wrong. There are assholes everywhere-but you really talking exception to the rule here in this community. Not a show -"for "Sunday at church", but core values and beliefs...that corny 3 Musketeers crap ain't so fuckin corny-its called "Character".Many people have a big problem with accountability these days , and core values as we know them are often sneared at as weak or bullshit.THAT IS BULLSHIT, that IS weakness, not the strength it perceived as by the "yo doggers" and "what can you do for me's ". Guess where I'm going with this is it IS a Bad Ass symbol of the "Good Guys", it doesn't have the "kill'  em all, babies too" aura to it.It does have a very menacing air very directly pointed in the bad guy direction. It applies.Same with the crusader cross. You gotta stand for something , or you can fall for anything.

Now....target opportunity...okay, sure.Uhm, so is a humvee. Psycologically intimidating, oh hell yes.All the bad guys know we al ways have to play by choirboy rules-its used against us constantly, and always will be. Rant stifled.

The media...is one the the tools our enemies use against us constantly, very effectively so.They are the force reducers and a main weapon used to muzzle us, and so easily exploited into action with a few little training tips-feigning sickness or injury when captured , (fucking Abu G!).....yadda yadda yadda. This is 10 cents worth of spray paint that provides a hundred thousand dollar payback in "oh shit, pants crapping" psych benefit.Fucking funny kinda though- we use spray paint to inspire terror(backed up by the effectiveness in which we CAN wage war when allowed)and they cut off peoples heads, blow up buses full innocents, vilify the war dead viciously ,with vigor and glee(...and um ,  we pee'd on some once)-and we are still somehow the bad guy????.

I guess , more aptly put ....it is Justified by the men behind it.

    • In the IDF, 'Lonely Soldier' is a term that describes soldiers serving on active duty who have no family is Israel. These are volunteers that came to serve for 3-5 years. They typically go back to their respective countries upon completion. Most commonly, these are people who immigrated to Israel by themselves. I was one of them. While in Israel, I lived in an apartment building where the majority of people were lonely soldiers. It was located on the outer ring of Jerusalem, surrounded by four Arab villages. My roommates were two recon guys (like me) and one who worked in field intel. All of the other inhabitants were soldiers from various units, with most of them serving a combat role. It was a well known thing, especially to the Arabs in the village. Most of the time we wouldn't be there, but when we were on leave, we would come to the apartment for a little R&R. It was rare that the four of us were there at the same time, but once in a blue moon, it did happen. Each village had, as is customary, its own mosque. When the time for prayer came, the loudspeakers would call out to the faithful. It was OK, we were used to it. However, over the weekend they would make it a point to play the call to prayer very, and I mean VERY, loud. They knew soldiers would be in the building trying to get some sleep - recovering from several weeks in the field. This always annoyed me but there was nothing I could do. On this particular weekend, after an intense seven weeks of non-stop ops, all I wanted was to go to the apartment, sleep, eat, sleep some more and then sleep again. That weekend the four of us were at the apartment and we were all equally tired. We arrived Thursday night and after a small dinner and some beers, we went to sleep. At 0400 we all jumped.... The freaking loudspeakers at all four mosques began their call to prayer at full blast. Fuck.... We spent the remainder of the day trying to rest and every time we would fall asleep, again... The call for prayers, full blast! Over lunch, we all looked at each other and knew this had to stop. We came up with a plan. I know it wasn't nice, but at that point we couldn't care less about political correctness. Here's what we did. After some recon that night, we noticed that the call to prayer wasn't performed by an Imam or some other person with a microphone. It was a tape recorder that used a tape. We figured the four of us, experts in stealthy infils, could sneak in and steal those tapes. However, while we were planning the different infil routes for each village, we all smiled and did something better. We recorded Metallica's 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' on repeat on all four tapes and then waited till midnight. At midnight, each one of us - armed with a Metallica tape - headed to a different village. All dressed in black, we were careful not to be seen. We entered into the buildings and exchanged the tapes. We rallied back to the exfil point, a crossroad not far from the last village and headed back to our apartment. And then we waited... At 0350 we went to the roof with some coffee, opened some field chairs and waited for the show to begin. At 0400 sharp the first "call" came alive, full volume: Make his fight On the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside ... Take a look To the sky Just before you die It's the last time he will Followed by the next, then the 3rd and 4th joined in. Full volume Metallica! Soon after, we heard sirens headed to the villages. I don't know what happened after that, but we had our own private concert, right there. No kidding, there I was... Metallica call to prayer
