SOFREP CarpeNoctem I'm embarrassed and ashamed I didn't realize this upon on receiving the new shirt before complaining. The reason it appeared "ironed on" and extremely tacky to the touch was due to it sitting in a hot FedEx truck all day. When I checked it today, to get ready to send out, it was the exact quality that I'm used to with SOFREP. I quickly realized my grave error and knew I had to own up to my mistake. With that said, Brandon, I'm sorry I didn't realize this before I complained about the new shirt. You talked to your vendor, when it was my mistake to begin with. V/R. Draven.
bandanana , . ...Thank you. The Kagnew ("Conqueror") Battalion story both little known and fascinating... and of course my family connection. . ...My father would insist upon one correction... He did not "lead" the Kagnew into battle... their own superb officers did that. He gave them excellent advice... helped coordinate their efforts with that of the U.S. Army. And with a field radio he was able to expertly conjure up and direct heavy artillery and air support... "danger close" to make the North Korean and Chinese involvement with Ethiopians even more unpleasant than it already was... . ...Without a doubt, his time with the "tall dark men" in the "land of the morning mists" was the most rewarding of his military career. To serve with this unit was a high honor... to be awarded the Star of Ethiopia an even higher one. . -YP-
Thanks for the great reads -YP- ... I just finished your piece on the Ethiopian Imperial Guard in Korea... Thank you so very much for telling the wonderful story of these courageous souls... WE MUST NEVER FORGET !!! I am amazed, and a little choked up that these brave warriors VOLUNTEERED for Korea, after the despicable treatment by the League of Nations... And KUDOS to your Dad for stepping up to lead this contingent...he strikes me as being a most remarkable man...I do hope you got to spend some quality time with him...he must be missed terribly... Regards, Nana ;-) (Ps ...on to more of your great reads...)
