CSAR1 I agree. setting up a mandated number is setting them up to fail.
I imagine even with new leadership, which sounds like its very much needed, recovering 200 service personal a year would be difficult. In mandating a number like that it would seem obvious management would focus on locations where a higher number of remains could be located, hence less small teams or single airmen recovery efforts would be less likely pursued. That would mean Vietnam era SOF and F4 type aircraft losses would be not possibly be highly prioritized. One would think more resent conflicts, post 1965, would be best pursued since indigignous personnel who might have personal knowledge of where our personnel may be located and exactly what occurred during their final moments could still be spoken to. I would rather see no mandated number, just consistent true honest effort with results of recovered service members for those efforts or explanation for why no recovery was able to occur.
