Trump is almost tailor made for the Joe the Plumber crowd, but can he get the votes, or the nomination he needs?

I'm with Mrs. P. Drop the F----ing Blade!! Great cartoon, Jack.
Scary shit but I agree with most of this. Have to say I don't agree with the Sanders sentiment. i agree he has principles, and he certainly believes in what he says. I have to agree with Ritland though, if you're crazy and firmly believe in what your saying, you're still fuckin crazy (something like that, you get the idea). Totally agree regarding Jim Webb, shame. I must say, although the debates are not the best way to determine a candidate they have certainly influenced my opinion. They have all but destroyed Trump for me, I wanted to like him in the beginning. I have to say though, I'm surprised there isn't more talk about Rand Paul and Carly Fiorina. Both strike me as critical thinkers, and Carly seems very well studied on foreign policy and our Military in general. Also like the idea of getting the private sector more involved in creating some of these government led initiatives. I like how Rand responds to some of these dumb ass questions asked by the moderators. I think Rand is also very passionate when it comes to the constitution, I'm just not 100% sure about his thoughts on Military spending. I like Cruz too, his religious side is a little much for me though. We will see what happens, still have some time.
CSAR1-You are always welcome here, but I'd rather hang with you in San Diego... We had 17 family and 1 sorta homeless friend at Thanksgiving. We are a very vocal group, and the discussions get a little lively. Never a dull moment around here. It's all done mostly respectfully, and what's interesting is we have always been big believers that meals together are important for our family. So come on. I need backup....
Agree with your analysis and I certainly don't even want him as president... I'm actually glad it's Killery at the forefront.
I think that some people are just sick and tired of career politicians, and see him as the outsider. Personally, I'm troubled by many of the things he's said, and I would prefer not to see him win. However, I fall into the anyone-but-Hillary camp. So I have to think strategically. I don't think that Cruz has much appeal outside hardcore conservatives. I like Rubio, but I don't see him improving much. Trump, on the other hand, does have appeal outside of hardcore conservatives. I think I could live with Sanders for the various reasons that CSAR1 and TexJ3 have mentioned above. With the current likelihood that Hillary will receive the D coronation, I think that the best option on the GOP side is to put forward the candidate who stands the best chance of defeating her in the general election. Is it my favorite GOP candidate? Nope. But anything and anyone is better than Hillary. As others have stated, it's too bad that Biden didn't run. Also, I really wish that Jim Webb had fared better.
