The Korth Super Sport Revolver is an interesting twist on the iconic revolver that many of us grew up shooting. This modern adaptation of the revolver is the brainchild of Korth Arms, a Giessen Germany based company that is being represented here in the United States by famed 1911 maker Nighthawk of Berryville, Arkansas.
Now looking at the picture you make think it looks heavy or awkward but this revolver offers a few twists and turns that will please many die hard revolver fans. Where do we start with the highlights of this new German offering to the American gun market.
How about the fact this pistol allows you to shoot .357 Magnum, .38 Special AND 9x19mm out of one gun ? I will admit I’m not a huge fan of revolvers but when I heard I can shoot all those calibers out of it, I have to say that I am more than a little intrigued, but be warned it’s German and imported by Nighthawk and that means it’s not cheap.
The Super Sport by North is a revolver that features a 6″ barrel and it made from as the company calls it “The finest billet materials available”. The frame is made of AISI 4140 Alloy Steel, which in a nut shell means its a blend of Chromium, Molybdenum, Iron, Manganese and a few other elements. This blend of alloy steel is reported to have a tensile strength in excess of 90,000 psi. The barrel also uses a high quality alloy steel, the AISI 4340 steel that has a slightly higher tensile strength (108,000 psi) and a higher melting temperature of 2600*Fahrenheit. Make no mistake, no expense was spared on building this pistol.
A Lothar Walther cold forged polygon barrel is the centerpiece of the pistol. The barrel sports full length rails on the sides in the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions for any accessories the shooter may need. When you add that to the unique way Korth Arms designed their adjustable front sight, the profile of the pistol takes on it’s own form. There was a good deal of thought into how to take a classic American design like the .357 Magnum and put a very European twist to it. Let’s take a look at the complete list of specifications on the Korth Super Sport and see what else about this revolver makes it stand out in the crowd.

I have to admit, not since Harrison Ford first started hunting down replicants as Rick Deckard in Bladerunner has a revolver seemed this awesome. That being said the price for having a revolver apparently this finely built will set you back a staggering $4799.00. We didn’t see this pistol at SHOT Show 2017 or at Industry Day at The Range but had I have known about it before the show I would have made it a point to find the Nighthawk representatives and ask them about this revolver.
Like we said repeatedly this revolver falls into a price range that will make it unobtainable by many people who read this article, including all of the writing staff I can assure you. That being said, sometimes we find guns that aren’t friendly on the wallet or just aren’t practical to many of us, that doesn’t make them any less interesting. Here at The Arms Guide we occasionally like to look at and discuss guns that people with much deeper wallets can afford, that to me is part of the fun of being a gun writer.
Let us know what you think of the Korth Super Sport .357 Magnum, do you think it’s every bit as good as a premium revolver from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center or do you think it’s just hype ? If you had the free money would you take a gamble on the imported Korth? It’s an interesting design for sure, but for me if I’m spending $4700 for a gun it wouldn’t be a new production gun, it would be a classic Broomhandle Mauser or a Luger P08. Hope you enjoyed this quick look at the Korth Super Sport.
