At age 65, I had to retire my beloved GOVERNMENT MODEL, 1911: Sadly, I can no longer control the recoil while engaging in rapid fire drills. Ironic that there is such a SHORT time between being "old enough" and discovering when you've now become "too old". It's an "all steel" gun, and its mass has contributed much in minimizing muzzle climb. Replacing the bbl. with a 9x19 hopefully will extend the life of gun.
The rear sight on the 1911 was up too far - he should get a new front sight so the rear can be set lower and less vunerable
