From The Cockpit: Growler On Cruise

Happy Sunday, oh FighterSweep Faithful!

As you all have seen, we have given our good friends in Naval Aviation a healthy bit of air time with their fabulous Hornet Ball, Strike Fighter Ball, and cruise videos. Tonight we’re bringing you another cruise video, but from the perspective of VAQ-141. The “Shadowhawks,” stationed at NAS Atsugi, Japan, flying the Boeing EA-18G Growler.

The Shadowhawks have the distinction of being the first unit to fly a combat operation from sea in the Growler, supporting both Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom from the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush (CVN-77). The footage you’ll see in this installment, and in the subsequent parts (don’t watch ahead, cheaters!!), was all taken during that cruise in 2011.
