Incidentally, the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine.

Russian Soldier (RS): We have exercises here. Please go this way.

BUW: What kind of exercises? Are you Russian?

RS: Yes.

BUW: So what the f*** are you doing here?

RS: Right now, our discussion will lead to nothing.

BUW: You are occupants; you are fascists! What the f*** are you doing on our land with all these guns? Take these seeds and put them in your pockets, so at least sunflowers will grow when you all lie down here.

RS: Right now, our discussion will lead nowhere. Let’s not escalate this situation. Please.

BUW: What situation? Guys, guys. Put the sunflower seeds in your pockets, please. You will lie down here with the seeds. You came to my land? Do you understand? You are occupiers. You are enemies.

RS: Yes.

BUW: And from this moment, you are cursed. I’m telling you.

RS: Now listen to me…

BUW: I’ve heard you.

I love this woman. This exchange is freakin’ poetic. To paraphrase:

Take the sunflower seeds and put them in your pockets so that after we kill you, your rotting corpse will give them new life and add to the beauty of our nation.

Over 90,000 Twitter users retweeted the video above, and the woman has been internationally lauded for her bravery. It has been picked up by numerous global news outlets and viewed by millions.

There were those who, though showing solidarity with Ukrainians, were impressed by the Russian soldier’s attitude. A soldier who most likely didn’t even want to be in that situation in the first place.
