While the world watched the presidential election unfold, we at SOFREP stayed hard at work to bring you reports from across the country and the world. 

Fighting in the Caucasus continues. On Monday, videos of devastating attacks on Armenian troops carried out by the Turkish-backed Azerbaijani army showed the gap in the military capabilities of the warring sides. Recent reports suggest that the Azerbaijani army has taken the stronghold city of Shushi in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, a move that may incite a strong reaction from the Armenian government which has close ties to Russia. 

French forces unleashed a series of airstrikes on insurgent targets in Mali, killing as many as 50 al-Qaeda fighters and neutralizing vehicles and weapons caches.

New security reports suggest that the Taliban and al-Qaeda are maintaining close ties, causing increased concerns over the U.S. plan to withdraw from the region after 19 years of conflict. 

The world was shocked by a deadly terrorist attack in Vienna which resulted in four dead and scores injured. 

At home, we reported on a case of Chinese espionage that involved the compromising of a U.S. Naval officer. 

The U.S. Military has announced its plan to create a new Anti-Drone School while Special Operators learned that they may soon be zooming around the battlefield in hybrid dune buggies. We also tracked down the info on new augmented reality goggles which will allow soldiers to see the battlefield in a whole new way and brought you a run-down of a new concept for an air-dropped fast attack vehicle.
