5.11 Tactical is showing their creative mind with the Peninsula Insulator Packable Jacket. This lightweight and comfortable jacket has some interesting features. The Primaloft® Black Series Insulation gives an extremely comfortable ride while maintaining warmth. The body is insulated at 100gm and the sleeves at 80gm; enough to keep you comfortable in most conditions. The regular fit allows enough room to add layers, should you choose to do so, while the lightweight design keeps the jacket streamline. You could easily wear this jacket with a t-shirt on a cool day, or add some layers for the colder months which gives more versatility to the garment and more bang for your buck.
5.11 went modest with one area for a morale patch for those that don’t want to look too “tacticool”, and a concealed left chest pocket which is large enough to fit today’s cellphones. Perhaps my favorite unique feature is the RapiDraw™ pass-through access. There is a zipper inside the hand pockets which, when unzipped, provides direct access to your waistband. Mini-ripstop fabric provides a durable construction and last but not least. The Insulator folds into a removable stuff sack that fits in a hand pocket, making this a portable and appealing addition to your winter wardrobe. Check out the video for more details.
