Soldiers from the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) transport a 180lb mock-casualty down a mountain using a stretcher they fabricated from skis and ski poles during the Winter Warfare Trainer Course at Telluride, Colorado, Dec. 6 – 15, 2017. The course teaches Green Berets the fundamentals of high-altitude and cold-weather movement, avalanche and rescue, field operations, casualty extraction, and combat tactics. The student instructors will take these skills back to their units, improving 10th Group’s ability to accomplish any mission, in any environment, anywhere in the world.
