A combat veteran I hired a few years back killed himself this year. I wasn’t surprised to hear the news. This may sound callous, but it’s the truth. I’ve been around “it” long enough to become numb to news like this. But my thinking on how I will be helping from now on has transformed.
No more job offers or loans. This just hasn’t worked for me in the past. In fact, it’s been a fucking disaster that usually ended in a broken relationship when I ultimately had to make a hard choice and cut the cord because PTS, drugs, and alcohol were at play in the company. So now it’s pure knowledge sharing.
