The Pic of the Day: The urge to submerge

U.S. Navy divers assigned to Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1 and Royal Thai Navy (RTN) sailors assigned to the RTN Navy Diver and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Center prepare to conduct a joint dive exercise off the coast of Pattaya, Thailand. They’re aboard the Military Sealift Command Safeguard-class salvage ship USNS Salvor (T-ARS 52) during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Thailand (CARAT) 2019. The year marked the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise series designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies’ abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
