Watch: Interview with British SAS- Phil Campion’s transition into the media world

Phil Campion, former British SAS, sits down with SOFREP for an interview in London. In this episode, Phil talks about how he transitioned from the SAS to a life in the media. The first major step was writing his first book, “Born Fearless.” As is often the case in America, transitioning from the military to the media is frowned upon in England, especially for those in the SAS. Instead of starting a survival show like several of his teammates, he said he got into TV “the hard way.”

When he decided to embed with the Peshmerga, it was one of the first times a former British SOF soldier was on the front lines, reporting. Sky News loved him because he took the attitude that “the battlefield is my playground and I know it.” This allowed him to see more than any other reporter at the time.
