Cyrus Norcross

About the author

Cyrus Norcross is an award-winning journalist and Army veteran from the Navajo Nation. He is known for his impactful work on missing and murdered indigenous people. He contributed two short stories to "Violence of Action: The Untold Stories of the 75th Ranger Regiment in the War on Terror." Cyrus served with the 75th Ranger Regiment deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. He also served with the 4th Infantry Division and did military contracting, training the 39th Squadron of the Royal Air Force in supporting reconnaissance forces, army ground maneuvers, and troops in contact. Cyrus also spent time in North Dakota during the Standing Rock protests for five months and is the host of the "Warriors at Heart" podcast, amplifying Native American Veterans' voices. He enjoys traveling, snowboarding, learning about history, and creating music and stories through films, writing, and video games.
