Al Shabaab attacked a restaurant in Mogadishu, seven people killed

“Somali security officials said a suicide bomber had survived the blast and was taken into custody and that two militants had been killed.”

On Thursday, three members of al Shabaab entered the Banadir Beach Club, a restaurant in Mogadishu, Somalia after detonating a car bomb near the entrance. At least seven people have died and two were wounded from the attack. According to the New York Times, “Somali security officials said a suicide bomber had survived the blast and was taken into custody and that two militants had been killed.” Al Shabaab claimed the attack after it was over. The restaurant is in the Lido Beach area which is close to the Turkish Embassy.
