In addition to the ongoing cartel violence, innocent citizens have also been affected by the lawlessness that has taken over the city. Drug cartels have been resorting to kidnapping and extortion as a way to make fast money for their ongoing wars.

Cardona’s future became clear when he and a second American teen were assigned two $5,000 commission jobs in Laredo. The first target was a Mexican cop, Bruno Orozco, who’d defected from the Zetas to join a Sinaloan boss, Chuy Resendez, in Laredo. The teens murdered Orozco by the side of a busy road in broad daylight. Most of the hastily assembled crew escaped, but Cardona landed up in the Laredo police station for questioning by Detective Robert Garcia.

U.S. law enforcement sources consulted by Breitbart Texas confirmed that the gunfire was heard on the northern side of the border prompting, authorities to take precautions. Sources within Mexico’s law enforcement described the gun battle as an average or “run of the mill” encounter.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) describes them, as perhaps, “the most technologically advanced, sophisticated, and violent of these paramilitary enforcement groups.”

The cartel faction announces a new alliance calling themselves Carteles Unidos (United Cartels). The new alliance was allegedly formed between the Vieja Escuela, Grupo Bravo, the Gulf Cartel and two new groups calling themselves Talibans and Wero 74.

And with such methods being considered as “regular” by members, a woman operative recently arrested in California referred to as ‘La Peque’ by Mexican tabloids confessed to having sexual intercourse with corpses while working for the Los Zetas cartel.
