I’ve heard the speculation and gossip about Jesse Ventura’s Navy SEAL status and wanted to set the record straight. Jesse Ventura graduated with Basic Underwater Demolition Class 58 and, like it or not, he earned his status. Some say he’s a UDT (Underwater Demolition Team), and not a “SEAL,” but that’s bullshit.
Others have seen the flaw in this analogy, and mentioned in private SEAL forums, “try telling that to a WWII UDT veteran who swam ashore before the landing craft on D-Day.” The UDT’s and SEALs are essentially one and the same. It’s why the UDT is still part of the training acronym BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL).
Like it or not, Jesse Ventura is a Navy SEAL. He did the pushups and put up with the cold water, just like the rest of us.
Many are rightfully upset that he took a personal issue between himself and the late Chris Kyle and is now going after his widow and children in a lawsuit that is currently in the trial phase. SOFREP has recently spoke with legal insiders who are trial side and they are putting the odds squarely in the court of the Kyle estate in their opinion, and that’s good news for everyone.
Lots of lessons can be learned from Jesse’s lawsuit. The main takeaway is that family should be off limits; if you have an issue with a teammate then take it behind the proverbial mil van (Navy talk for behind the woodshed), and don’t drag uninterested parties involved.
As far as Jesse is concerned, it’s safe to say he won’t be showing his mug at any of the UDT/SEAL reunions anytime soon. At one time, he was highly regarded in our community for his big personality and accomplishments as a Governor of Minnesota. Now some in the Teams are petitioning to have him officially removed and banned as a member of the UDT/SEAL fraternal order.
The damage is done, and now Jesse will be forced to live with the consequences of his actions. And as a result I’m sure he’ll be spending even more time south of the US border.

Minou_Demimonde leiber Kiyabear Txazz , I am going to be sick!! The saddest thing is what? Chief Kyle didn't think putting the smack down on JV was something to crow about? He wasn't proud of it? He is the one who made the claim he was the one who did crow about it, he was the one who included it in his book...........
Joe- If you read the jury instructions (there is a link around here somewhere that Txazz posted several days ago & I also linked to in an earlier post) it becomes easier to see how they reached their decision. I also just found this interview w/ one of the jurors. I haven't read the entire thing yet myself but will do so now. http://www.startribune.com/local/269697941.html
joesig Minou_Demimonde Kiyabear leiber Txazz Nailed it!
LawyerHandle Yet both incidents show CK's predisposition to telling tall tales. As stated earlier, I don't believe the Katrina tale whatsoever. With regard to the killing of two thugs, well I don't know enough about it. If it was a good shoot, why would there be any secrecy about it? If it was a bad shoot, maybe the police would help CK out and cover it up, but there is no way to stop the two thug's family from coming forth looking to line their pockets from a person with deep pockets. Again I call BULLSHIT on the Katrina tale and don't know enough about the latter as I wasn't there
LawyerHandle Good point, Agreed.
