Muslim Man stabbed two Canadian soldiers at a recruiting office

Canada’s military will keep wearing their uniforms in public, the country’s top officer said Tuesday in the wake of a stabbing attack that wounded two soldiers at a recruiting centre in Toronto.

General Jonathan Vance, the Chief of the Defence Staff, issued a statement praising the courage of the military members who neutralized the attacker.

“We remain remain undeterred by yesterday’s attack … our men and women will continue to proudly wear their uniforms in public,” Gen. Vance said. The accused in the a knife attack is a Canadian citizen who was heard uttering, “Allah told me to do this,” police said on Tuesday.

There are no signs that the man had accomplices or was working in concert with any organization, police chief Mark Saunders told reporters. “While at the scene, the accused stated that ‘Allah told me to do this. Allah told me to come here and kill people’,” Mr. Saunders said.
