Wildlife and narcotic trafficking are serious crimes with devastating consequences for Tanzania’s natural resources, economic and security, and one of its most visible resources, its elephants, are in danger of being wiped out, victims of poaching for their ivory. The joint effort between U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Department of State and the Republic of Tanzania arrived at a unique solution to the problem.
