The NYPD Counter Terrorism unit is investigating the explosion and the injured have been taken to area hospitals.  Initial reports indicate that the explosion may have come from a dumpster (see the tweet below). Earlier in the day, another explosion occurred inside a trashcan in Seaside Park, NJ. It is unknown at this time if the two explosions are related. More details to follow.
