It’s no secret that terrorists groups are embed themselves in black markets to fund there activities.  Just look at Afghanistan which supplies most the world’s heroin addicts.

Now look at the increasing trend of Al-Shabaab in north Africa crossing from Somalia into Kenya to poach elephants at will.

And they have no problem selling the ivory on the black market into China which continues to have a hunger for ivory. A SOFREP source who frequents the region said the trend is getting out of control and these animals are going to be wiped off the face of the planet if something isn’t done to stop this.

“Shabaab is apparently doing very well at killing thousands of these amazing animals and turning the ivory into AK-47’s and other things…”

Our source also tells us that efforts are being stepped up later this year to put serious consequences in place to stop the thousands of elephants that are slaughtered for ivory annually. We’ll have to wait and see what “serious consequences” means, I guess.
