4 police officers killed and at least 7 other officers wounded at Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas

At least two gunmen in elevated positions fired on a group of 11 officers at a Black Lives Matter protest in Dallas, resulting in the deaths of 4 officers and wounding 7 other officers. The large Black Lives Matter protest was in response to the recent police involved shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota. Dallas Police Chief David Brown said:

“Tonight it appears that two snipers shot ten police officers from elevated positions during the protest/rally. Three officers are deceased, two are in surgery and three are in critical condition. An intensive search for suspects is currently underway. No suspects are in custody at this time. We ask that any citizen with information regarding the shootings tonight call 214-671-3482.”

“We will provide more information once it is available. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tonight.”

According to Fox News:

Fox News affiliate KDFW-Fox4 reported that one suspect was “down” and SWAT officers were negotiating with at least one other suspect, a man reportedly wearing what appeared to be a bullet-proof vest and tactical gear.
