A Turkish security official told Reuters that a Kurdish militant group likely carried out the attack.

“According to initial findings, it seems that this attack has been carried out either by the PKK or an affiliated organisation,” the official said.

Gunfire was heard after the explosion, officials told Reuters. Ambulances rushed to the area and smoke could be seen rising from about two miles away, a witness told Reuters. Several cars were seen on fire.
