SOFREP is not afraid to call the attack on the Florida night club for what it is, an attack on the U.S. and the gay community by an Islamic extremist.
As of right now there are 50 dead and 53 injured being reported from the mass shooting at a Florida nightclub early this morning. The numbers will likely go up as the story continues to develop. This is the largest attack of this kind since 9/11 attacks. The FBI have already stated that this is being investigated as an act of terrorism. The shooter has been identified as Omar Mateen of Fort Pierce, Florida but has been linked to Afghanistan. This lone wolf attack is consistent with the call for attacks by ISIS during the month of Ramadan.

A pro-Isis group has released a hit list with the names of more than 8,000 people mostly Americans.
More than 600-people live in Florida, and one security expert believes that many of those targeted live in Palm Beach County and on the Treasure Coast.
The “United Cyber Caliphate” that hacked U.S. Central Command, 54,000 Twitter accounts and threatened President Barack Obama is the same pro-Isis group that’s reportedly created a “kill list” with the names, addresses and emails of thousands of civilian Americans.
Reports of the list came to light online when Vocativ reported the list was shared via the encrypted app, Telegram, and called on supporters to kill.
Former FBI agent-turned lawyer Stuart Kaplan says the threat is especially alarming, because the people on this list are civilians who don’t have the security necessary to protect themselves.
“It’s going to create some hysteria,” he said…
Last month ISIS released a audio clip that claims to be from Abu Muhammad al-Adnani. In the audio clip it calls for lone wolf attackers to carry out attacks on the United States and Europe during the holy month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan, the month of conquest and jihad. Get prepared, be ready … to make it a month of calamity everywhere for the non-believers … especially for the fighters and supporters of the caliphate in Europe and America,” said the message, suggesting attacks on military and civilian targets.”
“The smallest action you do in their heartland is better and more enduring to us than what you would if you were with us. If one of you hoped to reach the Islamic State, we wish we were in your place to punish the Crusaders day and night,” Adnani said.”
In 2014 al-Adnani called on lone-wolf attacks against the West and within weeks of the call to action there were several attacks on a New York police officer and another attack on the Canadian Parliament. In 2015, al-Adnani called for action against Russia and within the next month the Russian Metrojet Flight 9268 crashed in Egypt.
The attack on the Florida gay nightclub is an attack on western ideals as much as it is on America itself. Overall, America is known to be accepting of the lesbian, transgender, and gay communities. However, it goes against sharia law and Muslim countries often kill and torture people who are openly gay or suspected of being gay.
America should continue to be on alert during the remainder of Ramadan, as calls to violence are usually answered by Islamic extremist supporters.
