The Pic of the Day: Honors procession in Laos for possible remains of unknown US service members

In the featured photo, U.S. service members attached to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency carry the possible remains of unknown service members onto an aircraft during a repatriation ceremony in Pakse, Laos, on April 10, 2019.

In the video below, U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Nick Kibbey visits the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency to receive his grandfather’s remains. Air Force Col. Richard A. Kibbey was reported missing in action on a rescue and recovery mission over North Vietnam on February 6, 1967. He was accounted for on August 6, 2018. The remains will be transported to Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, where there will be a burial with full military honors. DPAA conducts global search, recovery, and laboratory operations to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
