About the author
Brandon Schingh is a seasoned security professional with over 20 years of experience across
military, law enforcement, private industry, and intelligence sectors.
Brandon began his career in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Infantry Squad Leader and
participated in the initial invasion force during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. Following his
six years of military service, he transitioned to a role as a Federal Air Marshal based in New
York City, where he traveled extensively—logging over 3 million miles—and served as a
firearms and tactics instructor.
His journey continued in the public sector, where he worked as a CIA security contractor, further
honing his expertise in high-stakes environments. Later, he was charged with the responsibility
of overseeing all physical security and intelligence for the Americas region for BAE Systems
Applied Intelligence. Since 2018, Brandon has worked extensively for a variety of defense
contractors in the greater Boston area, where his knowledge of global security threats and security management has allowed him to excel in his field, even earning the James S. Cogswell award for security excellence by the Defense Counterintelligence & Security Agency (DCSA) in 2021.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State
University, Master of Science in Business Continuity, Security, and Risk Management from
Boston University as well as a Master of Arts in Global Security from Arizona State University.
Furthermore, he also holds numerous security-related professional certifications. Leveraging his
expertise on global security and irregular warfare, he has been featured in many reputable
publications such as Small Wars Journal, Military Review, and Irregular Warfare Initiative with
widely accepted articles, such as “The Digital Battlefield: How Social Media is Reshaping
Modern Insurgencies”, “The Future of Warfare: Autonomous Technologies in Modern Conflict”,
“Using Special Operations Forces to Counter Mexican Cartels: An Irregular Analysis”, and
many others.
