This video demonstrates the textbook example of why it is standard operating procedure to push or assault through the kill zone of an ambush.

It is possible that an important lesson was lost in translation or brushed over by the Military Transition Team (MiTT) who trained this element of the Afghan Army . . .  Or more probably, the lesson was completely ignored.

For example, the truck that stopped in the middle of the kill-zone, was annihilated.

Such failures continue to cost more than the lives or their soldiers. The psychological effects of losing to dumb mistakes, breeds further internal contempt within an already fractured army, and edges into the ‘Just go Taliban, it’s easier,’ mentality. As well as another win for Taliban forces and the subsequent propaganda video.
