Ukraine-Russia Peace Talks End Without Breakthrough, 2nd Round To Be Scheduled

Following initial hesitation from the Ukrainian side to hold peace talks due to the location of the dialogue, Ukrainian and Russian delegates finally agreed to meet at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border near Pripyat River for a peace talk, a potential end to the war. No significant changes or ceasefires were agreed upon during the talk. However, both parties did say that a 2nd round of negotiations was possible in order to achieve a ceasefire.

The Veto Explained: Russia Blocks UN Resolution On Ukraine Invasion

Following the Russian advance into Ukraine, the United Nations Security Council had introduced a resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 25. The Russian Federation vetoed the resolution by virtue of its powers being a permanent member of the council, with 11 of the council’s 15 members voting in favor of the condemnation.

I was able to meet with an Ukrainian SOF Veterans Association, and they told me I was the first foreigner to meet them to talk about the war. It was weird as most of them served in Afghanistan along with their Russian counterparts and they still keep talking through social networks even with the ongoing war.
