Breaking News: Late Thursday night an MCAS Miramar F-18C Hornet crashed in Twentynine Palms, CA killing the pilot.
The single seat F/A-18C Hornet was from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing stationed at MCAS Miramar, CA. The crash occurred in Twentynine Palms, CA around 10:30 pm PST. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The name of the pilot is being withheld until identification and notification of next of kin. You can see the 3rd MAW press release in the tweet below.
