I crossed paths with Caleb twice at the Force Company, once as he was on the way to Afghanistan with Gunny Blonder’s platoon in ’08, and again last year, after he had come back into the Marine Corps, and I was getting ready to leave.

As little time as I got to spend around him, Caleb was always cheerful, no matter how much reason he might have had to be otherwise.  I unfortunately never got to deploy with him.

Fair winds and following seas, brother.
