Russian soldiers are dying by the thousands in Ukraine every month, and there does not seem to be an end in sight for this trend.

According to the Economist, the number of Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine in the past year may exceed the total number killed in every other Russian (or Soviet) conflict since the end of World War II combined. The Guardian reports that more than 20,000 Russian troops have been killed in the past five months alone.

The carnage doesn’t look like it will be ending anytime soon.
