A senior Hezbollah commander was reportedly the target of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) when they struck Beirut today in an apparent act of retaliation against a recent Hezbollah bombing of the Golan Heights. According to the National News Agency (the official news agency of the government of Lebanon), there has been a “loud explosion” near the Haret Hreik area of Beruit. Hezbollah’s Shura Council is said to be located in this general area.
