Ignoring military targets and concentrating on the civilian population, German planes killed somewhere around 1500 people and wounded thousands more. The gutted shell of the […]

More guns are not the problem: Half of 265M U.S. firearms owned by just 3 percent of population

Since 1994, 70 million additional firearms entered private ownership in the United States, the report says. During that same span, the percentage of American gun owners fell from 25 to 22 percent — further exemplifying the conclusion that more guns are going into fewer hands.

Another observation the survey makes is that a higher percentage of women, and a lower rate of men, own at least one firearm today than they did at the time of the last substantial gun study in 1994. For women, that percentage rose from 9 to 12 percent. For men, it dropped from 42 to 32 percent.
Recent statistics show that about 100,000 Americans are injured every year by a firearm — and 30,000 are killed. Of the 30,000 killed, about 20,000 are suicides.

Indictment: US Military boots made in China said ‘Made in the USA’

Prosecutors say the plot spanned from December 2008 to August 2012, after two investment firms acquired Wellco and made it a subsidiary of Tactical Holdings Operation Inc., which moved the operation from Waynesville, N.C., to Morristown in 2009.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David L. Gunn wrote in a rare “speaking indictment” that lays out details far beyond the bare allegations necessary to file charges that Wellco had pioneered boot-making technology that allowed the military to design footwear to meet specific needs on the battlefield, beginning with the Vietnam War.

Veteran gun rights, 2nd Amendment, targeted by Department of Veterans Affairs

The VA, in making the determination that a veteran requires a fiduciary to help them manage their money, is additionally making the decision that the veteran cannot handle a firearm, either. The VA is not conducting an evaluation to determine whether a veteran is a threat to himself or herself or others, requiring a medical determination verifying the veteran is displaying signs of violence, or notifying the veteran his or her Second Amendment rights are being eliminated. The VA simply reports the veteran to the federal National Instant Criminal Background Check (NICS) system and makes the “mentally defective” judgment of the veteran by default.
