The US Embassy in the Turkish capital city of Ankara is currently locked down and citizens are asked to avoid the compound until tomorrow.  Whether there was a second terror attack, possibly coordinated with the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey this morning, remains undetermined.

Taken in totality, today’s terrorist attacks include the assassination of the Russian ambassador, a shooting at a Islamic center in Zurich, Switzerland, a truck attack in Berlin, Germany, and a possible attack at the US embassy in Ankara.  The question now has to be asked if all of these events are happening independently of one another or if they were executed simultaneously by a terrorist organization working in close coordination.

Taking a close look at the current state of international politics, and the potential for terrorism and war to break out across multiple flashpoints, 2017 could be the year that many of America’s enemies emerge from the shadows.
