Banksy’s original intention when he began to paint his art on the 425-mile-long West Bank barrier of concrete walls was to draw global attention to the conflict. However, his artwork seems to have had the opposite desired effect. When the Palestinians were left with nothing, they began to sell the murals—physically cutting out the concrete and selling the street art to foreign buyers. Palestinians fought over the pieces, and were seemingly taken advantage of by art dealers. Most of the Palestinians in the video wish that the artist had never come to Palestine due to the infighting it has caused.
