The fjords of Norway were formed when massive coastal glaciers retreated after successive ice ages, leaving deep U-shaped valleys dug out by stone and ice with steep walls and floors now flooded with seawater. Thanks to the warm waters of the gulfstream and air currents peculiar to the region, the fjords remain virtually ice free year-round, and because they are very deep, large ships are able to navigate them without a problem.
The landscape is absolutely spectacular in this area, and we’ve decided that probably the best way to take in the beauty of this rugged terrain is in the cockpit of a Royal Norwegian Air Force F-16AM Fighting Falcon.
This particular video clip was taken with a camera mounted forward of the HUD, so it gives you an unobstructed view as the RoNAF Viper twists and turns through the fjords and passes by mountain peaks.
