President Trump will attend the ceremony unveiling Boeing’s new 787-10 on Friday at their plant in North Charleston, South Carolina according to the White House. The 787-10 will begin flight testing this year and Boeing plans to start delivering to customers in 2018. The company states they already have 149 orders from nine different customers.
This will be his first visit to South Carolina since he won the Republican primary there in February 2016. Since he won the election Trump has criticized the costs of Boeing proposed replacement for Air Force One.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer confirmed the trip during his daily briefing.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer confirmed the trip during his daily briefing.
“This visit will give the president an opportunity to celebrate a huge milestone for thousands of workers at Boeing, America’s No. 1 exporter, and the millions of American workers involved in aerospace,” Spicer said.
“This trip has been months in the making, and we’re thrilled to celebrate the roll-out of this amazing plane,” he added.
The specific time and window for the visit has not been released, leaving it unclear what sort of traffic snarls could occur around the Boeing plant and adjacent Charleston airport complex based on security concerns. – The Post and Courier
The 787-10 is the only Dreamliner totally made at the North Charleston location. The specific time of President Trump’s visit and the ceremony has not been announced yet.
