Watch: The EA-18G Growler – Aircraft That Can Blind the Enemy

The EA-18G Growler aircraft is a marvel of electronic warfare. The Growler is a special version of the F/A-18 carrier based jet aircraft designed to shutdown enemy radar. Armed with sensors that search out and locate enemy radar signals from surface to air missiles the EA-18G ‘jams’ those radar systems to allow friendly aircraft to penetrate the airspace undetected.

The Boeing EA-18G Growler, which entered service in 2009 took over the electronic warfare mission from the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler.
