A Blackhawk UH-60 carrying five crew members crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Hawaii on Tuesday evening. After Wheeler Army Airfield lost communication with the aircraft, the Coast Guard was called to assist with the search for the missing aircraft and crew members at 10:08pm (local time). It was at 11:30pm that a debris field was located about 2 miles west of Kaena Point, Oahu. According to the Coast Guard press release, several boats and aircraft have responded to the search.

The Blackhawk and crew members are assigned to 25th Combat Aviation Brigade and were conducting night training operations in the area at the time of the crash. The names of the missing crew members have not been released at this time. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
