Updated: Active shooter reported at a Houston strip mall, at least 9 people injured

Update 10:30 EST: The shooter was a lawyer and police are investigating if problems at his law firm led to the shooting. During a press conference, Houston Police Chief Martha Montalvo stated that 9 people were injured in the shooting.

Montalvo says nine people were wounded, three were treated and released from a hospital. One is in critical condition and another is in serious condition.- AP

Update 9:56 EST: Houston Police confirmed the shooter has been killed by police.

At approximately 06:30 am CST, an active shooter was reported at a Houston strip mall. According to the Houston Police, multiple people were shot and transported to area hospitals. 15 ambulances were reportedly sent to the scene. KPRC2 reported at least seven people injured and at least 30 shots fired. Houston Police confirmed that they shot the active shooter. No other details have been released yet. More to follow.
