Apple may have won the court battle, but will they win the encryption war?

Apple may have won the battle with the FBI’s request in court, but is the real war on privacy and encryption just now starting? Changes in the legislature are coming as U.S. Senators Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein are proposing a bill that would allow judges to force tech companies into honoring the government’s requests to breech customers’ privacy and personal encrypted data.

According to Reuters, “A bipartisan group of U.S. senators has begun circulating long-awaited draft legislation that would give federal judges clear authority to order technology companies like Apple to help law enforcement officials access encrypted data, according to sources familiar with the discussions.” This move will probably strain already-stressed relationships between tech companies and the government.
