Picture of the day: MV-22 Osprey landing on USS Ashland (LSD 48)

The US Navy and Marine Corps never rest and never sleep. They are always on patrol somewhere around the world keeping a watchful eye and ready to take action if needed.

This awesome picture of a Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey landing on the USS Ashland (LSD 48) somewhere in the Pacific region tells the story that most don’t think about on a daily basis. They are out there.

Navy 3rd Class Steve Pacheco, left, from Dallas, Texas and Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Tyler Johnson, from Nowrytown, Pennsylvania, star in this dramatic photo as they signal to an MV-22 Osprey during the risky business of flight operations aboard the amphibious dock landing ship.
