Leeann Tweeden, a KABC-AM news anchor and co-host of “McIntyre In The Morning,” has accused Minnesota Sen. Al Franken of kissing and groping her during a USO tour to the Middle East in 2006.
In a post shared early Thursday morning on KABC.com, Tweeden says the former comedian and now-politician forcibly kissed her after insisting they rehearse a kiss he wrote into a skit for the troops.
She also provided a photo of Franken apparently reaching toward, if not touching, her breasts while she is wearing military gear and sleeping. Franken appears to be mugging for the camera.

In a post shared early Thursday morning on KABC.com, Tweeden says the former comedian and now-politician forcibly kissed her after insisting they rehearse a kiss he wrote into a skit for the troops.

The Democratic senator’s office quickly responded with a statement:
“I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann. As to the photo, it was clearly intended to be funny but wasn’t. I shouldn’t have done it.”
Franken, 66, who has been married for 40-plus years, is the first member of Congress to face allegations of sexual harassment or abuse during the current groundswell of powerful men accused of such crimes or behavior.
